How to use Bajrangi — reading prayers, audio, sharing verses, and more.

Reading a Prayer

Open any prayer from the Prayers menu or the home page. On mobile, swipe left or right to move between verses. On desktop, use the arrow buttons in the BookBar at the bottom. The gold progress bar shows how far you are — tap or drag it to jump to any page.

First & Last Page

The BookBar shows four navigation buttons: jump to first page, previous, next, and jump to last page. The page counter in the middle shows your current position. On books with many pages you can tap the counter to type a page number directly.

Showing Meanings

The eye icon in the BookBar toggles meanings on and off. When lit gold, the English or Hindi explanation appears below each verse. When dimmed, only the scripture text is shown — useful if you want to focus on the recitation.

Listening Along

Books with audio (like Hanuman Chalisa) show an audio toggle on the cover page. Turn it on before tapping 'Begin reading' and the recitation will play as you read. You can also start or stop audio any time using the play button in the BookBar.

Hanuman Mantra

The Nav bar has a small play button labelled 'Mantra'. Tap it to play the Hanuman mantra softly in the background — it loops continuously. Tap the stop button (square) to end it. This works on any page, not just in books.

Sharing a Verse

Each prayer page has a WhatsApp icon in the BookBar. Tap it to share the current verse — on mobile it opens your native share sheet; on desktop it opens WhatsApp web with the verse text and a direct link to that exact verse. Desktop two-page spreads show two share icons, one for each page.

Bookmarks

A ribbon icon appears in the top corner of each book page. Tap it to save your place — the ribbon turns gold. When you return to that book, it will open at the bookmarked page. Each book remembers one bookmark per device and per reading mode (mobile / desktop).

Language

The language selector (En / हि) in the Nav bar switches all prayer text and UI between English transliteration and Devanagari Hindi. Your choice is remembered across sessions.

Reading Streak

A small flame counter appears at the bottom right of the screen (desktop) or in the page flow (mobile). It tracks how many days in a row you have visited Bajrangi. Read daily to keep your streak alive.

Offer a Diya

Bajrangi is free and will always be free. If you would like to support the seva, the 'Offer a Diya' link in the Nav and Footer opens a secure Stripe page. Any contribution keeps the lamps lit.
